Whenever I am craving Indian Cuisine and I find myself on campus, I like to go to All India Restaurant. Located on Craig Street, I normally get there by hoping on the 10A. Every time that I go to All India, I go for their buffet and I typically go at lunch time. The restaurant is never too crowded, and the sound of music fills the air as the corresponding music video is shown on the TVs. One neat thing is that the cups that are used for water resemble a goblet. I think their water tastes good, but it could just be because of the cup.

I have never ordered food off the menu from All India but they offer a variety of Indian cuisine and even feature twenty different vegetarian options. One reason that I like for the buffet is because I’m too indecisive. I like the buffet because I am able to get everything that I want for a standard price and if I want, I can also try something new without fully committing and purchasing the food as a dish on its own. The typical food that I get off the buffet is rice, chicken tikka masala, curry goat, and naan. This is my standard plate at all Indian buffets and isn’t specific to All India.

One thing that I will say about the chicken tikka masala from this location is that it never tastes the same. Granted I’ve been there about three times and sometimes it’s much spicier than normal or it’s not as creamy. This isn’t to say that it never tastes good, it is just the lack of consistency that upsets me. Upon my last visit this November, the chicken tikka masala seemed to be lacking chicken and was mainly just sauce, so I was pretty disappointed. Another thing that upsets me about their buffet is that the Naan is all kept together. They offer plain naan, garlic naan and onion naan but it is kept in the same container and it is often hard to tell which naan is which and their tastes often fuse together. One perk about their buffet is that they do have gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options and they are neatly labeled. Along with the typical Indian buffet food, All India also offers a salad bar.

Overall, All India is not my favorite Indian restaurant but due to its proximity and student discount, I am a returning customer.
