Big. Shot. Bob’s. Big Shot Bob’s. Big Shot Bob’s! That’s the only place that comes to mind when I want good wings. Although Big Shot Bob’s House of Wings is a Pittsburgh chain location, I only recommend the one in the South Side, across the street from the Starbucks on East Carson Street. To get there from campus, I typically hop on the 83, 81, or 54 and get off on East Carson Street and walk up to the restaurant. If you’re looking for a place with typical restaurant experience, Big Shot Bob’s isn’t it. But, if you are looking for a place with moist, crispy, saucy and decent sized wings, then Big Shot Bob’s is the place for you!

When you do finally decide to start living and go to Big Shot Bob’s, I highly recommend looking at the menu before you go. They offer over 50 wing flavors (both sauces and rubs) and when you are in the restaurant, it can be a little overwhelming. Instead of having a waiter or waitress take your order, you simply place your order with the cashier. Once you do place your order, the wings take about twenty minutes. The reason the wait is so long is because they don’t start cooking wings until they are ordered so they are guaranteed to come out hot! The options for wings are either 6, 13, or 50 and are $7.99, $13.99 or $48.99 respectively. Now this is expensive for wings but trust me they are worth it!

Whenever I go, I usually order the Pigeon Wings. The Pigeon wings are sweet buffalo sauce with Parmesan cheese and garlic. These wings are so good that every time that I go (which is quite often), I get this flavor of wings. When I go with a group of friends, they normally get Ace Boogie(black magic Cajun seasoning, butter, and dry ranch), Game Changers(black magic Cajun seasoning, Parmesan cheese, ranch, and garlic), or BIGFINEWOMAN3000(Dark barbecue, black magic Cajun seasoning, and Parmesan cheese). One thing I like about going with friends, is that we exchange wings. So even though I only order pigeon, I have tried a variety of flavors and have yet to be disappointed. Even the most critical eaters are satisfied with Big Shot Bob’s! Another perk of Big Shot Bob’s is that they deliver to Oakland for only about a dollar. Although if you do decide to get their wings delivered, do not expect them to be crispy.
Here is their menu so you can start planning your trip.
I’ve been looking for a great wing joint! I’ll have to try Big Shot Bob’s out!

$48.99 for 15 wings??? I hope that’s a typo!
